This paper published by Bulgarian scientists in One Ecosystem explains how a combination of in-situ inspections of individual urban trees and observations based on remote sensing of urban vegetation can help assess the health of urban ecosystems. Both methods are applied to different urban green spaces in Karlovo and deliver an insight on the vitality of the tree communities in the city.
