Dear all,
Hello again, amongst others, great opportunities for biodiversity monitoring and a request to policy makers, in this short update. Do not hesitate to spread the news!
Biodiversa+, the European Biodiversity Partnership under Horizon Europe is pleased to announce that it will soon launch a new transnational joint research call on the following topic: Improved transnational monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem change for science and society. This call will cover the following three non-exclusive research themes: 1) Innovation and harmonisation of methods and tools for collection and management of biodiversity monitoring data, 2) Addressing knowledge gaps on biodiversity status, dynamics, and trends to reverse biodiversity loss, 3) Making use of available biodiversity monitoring data. To be eligible, research consortia will have to include teams from a minimum of 3 countries participating in the call (including a minimum of two from EU Member States or EU Associated Countries). A global budget of over 40 million euros has been provisionally reserved for the call and at this stage. An information webinar for potential applicants will be organised on 20 September 2022, from 3:00PM to 4:30PM CEST. Register now to participate in this workshop! More information about this call is available on the Biodiversa+ website.
NBS task force 6 invites you to participate in the collection of case studies of NBS co-creation and/or co-governance for TF6 by contributing with cases that you work with. Please contribute via the form here until 25th June. TF6 aims to cover different geographic, governance, cultural and participatory contexts. The cases will be compiled and integrated in our final dissemination products. Furthermore, the analysis of the diversity of cases will support more adaptable guidelines that can be applied in different contexts and will contribute to the dissemination and up-scale of best practices for co-creation and co-governance of NBS. Don't hesitate to contact isabelferreira@ces.uc.pt if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your contributions!
FutureMARES Call for Knowledge Needs: FutureMARES is opening the opportunity to receive requests from policy makers of specific products to fill knowledge gaps related to the implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NBS) to safeguard marine biodiversity and ecosystems in a future climate. This call represents a unique opportunity to request the development of specific knowledge products that are of interest to policy makers and fall into the scope of FutureMARES' work. Apply now! Deadline extended to July 6, 2022.
In the last newsletter, I made a mistake with the date of Forum on the Mission Adaptation to Climate Change - 7 June 2022 (europa.eu) but luckily it has been recorded, follow the active link J
Take care,
