About BEEHive

The BEEHive is hosted by the CircHive project.

CircHive is a five-year, €11.5 million project co-funded by the European Union and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

The project is developing rigorous and standardised methods for combining two approaches to valuing nature: biodiversity footprinting and natural capital accounting. These two approaches are being used by an increasing number of organisations to understand and value the nature that underpins their operations. By recognising the value of nature, CircHive aims to help organisations make more informed decisions that protect ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and unlock new opportunities.

CircHive is working closely with businesses and cities to develop the BEEHive as place for "Biodiversity Excellence of Enterprises": a community open to any organisation interested in learning how to measure and manage their impact on nature. Members of BEEHive can collaborate in developing and testing CircHive’s outputs and receive support in developing sustainable management practices of their own.

CircHive aims to clearly demonstrate the benefits of valuing nature and help to mainstream the use of biodiversity footprinting and natural capital accounting. To help achieve this we provide events, training material, policy briefs and support the standardisation of the biodiversity footprint method.
