Join IPBES for a webinar on key knowledge gaps highlighted in the Methodological Assessment Report on the Impact and Dependence of Business on Biodiversity and Nature's Contributions to People (Business and Biodiversity Assessment), approved at IPBES 12.
The webinar will also explore how to strengthen the uptake of, and foster actions to address, knowledge gaps identified by IPBES assessments.
About the webinar
The webinar is intended to advance implementation of Objective 3 of the IPBES rolling work programme up to 2030 on strengthening the knowledge foundations, with a particular focus on Objective 3(a): knowledge generation catalysis.
As part of its work under Objective 3(a), IPBES is in the process of further developing its online database of identified knowledge gaps. The renewed database will allow users to easily access, filter and search the knowledge gaps. The webinar will start with a presentation of the updated database.
The webinar will then focus on key knowledge gaps identified in the Business and Biodiversity Assessment. These gaps will be presented by assessment experts, with a view to fostering efforts and initiatives aimed at addressing them.
Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the identified gaps with the assessment experts and share experiences and initiatives contributing to the generation of new knowledge.
Participants will also be invited to provide suggestions for improving the uptake of, and fostering actions to address, knowledge gaps identified by IPBES assessments, in particular by strengthening engagement with research funders and other funding organisations.
