Resource description:
The Hungary Policy Lab brings together stakeholders including local decision makers, farmers, national parks and policy makers. It has been established with the cooperation of ESSRG and WWF Hungary.
The area of focus is subject to drought, and is located in the artificially transformed catchment area in the main canal in Donger. Opportunities for water retention and adaptation to climate change in the Sand Ridge within the Danube-Tisza interfluve, middle Hungary, will be explored. Water loss is currently leading to biodiversity loss and depopulation. By working with local and national experts, the Policy Lab hopes to better understand how we can reduce the effects of water shortages and how it is possible to retain water in the landscape.
