Resource description:
The NATMed Decision Support Tool (DSS) is an open-access, web-based platform designed to support the exploration and early-stage shortlisting of Full Water Cycle Nature-based Solutions (FWC-NbS) and complementary technological solutions for resilient water management in Mediterranean contexts
Developed under the PRIMA-funded NATMed project (Grant Agreement No. 2221), the tool compiles approximately 30 structured solution entries derived from five Mediterranean case studies (Spain, Greece, Italy, Türkiye and Algeria) and selected external projects
Each solution page provides structured decision-support information including: technical description, operation and maintenance aspects, legal and policy considerations, economic notes, impacts and benefits, risks and barriers, and references.

Advantages:
- Open-access and publicly available platform
- User-friendly interface suitable for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Structured, multi-dimensional classification system for NbS
Constraints:
- Solutions are context-dependent and may require local feasibility assessment
- Currently limited to approximately 30 solution entries
Uses of this resource:
The NATMed DSS can be used to:
- Screen NbS options for water security, drought, flood or climate adaptation challenges
- Support planning and policy development in municipalities and regional authorities
- Identify NbS for integration into existing grey infrastructure
- Prepare early-stage concept notes or investment pipelines
- Compare ecosystem service contributions of different NbS
- Support training and capacity-building activities
- Facilitate stakeholder dialogue and knowledge exchange
- Identify transferable Mediterranean NbS experiences
It is particularly useful for public authorities, utilities, NGOs, researchers, consultants and practitioners seeking structured, evidence-based insights into Full Water Cycle Nature-based Solutions.
