In this NetworkNature Nordic Hub webinar Carolina Rodriguez and Pauline Rebouillat from Lund University will present the "Nature-based solutions at the climate-biodiversity-health nexus" project. They will describe the process, such as working interdisciplinarity and share some insights on Nature-based solutions within the biodiversity, climate change, human health nexus.
This project is developing a conceptual framework for how nature-based solutions – actions that protect, sustainably manage and restore natural or modified ecosystems - generate synergies and mitigate trade-offs between biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, public health and human wellbeing. Based on fundamental understanding, this framework will capitalize on biodiversity science, ecosystem process understanding, environmental psychology and epidemiology, to consider shared drives and causal links. To inform a joint framework, project members will systematically synthesize existing knowledge. They will consider ecological (e.g., historical and existing land-uses), socio-economic (e.g., economic, cultural, and educational) and individual appraisal (based on personal values, experiences, and interests) modifiers and mediators that may affect optimal design and spatial targeting of nature-based solutions.
