The NetworkNature community and the technical infrastructure that underpins the platform are constantly evolving ecosystems. At Oppla, we oversee the technical development of the NetworkNature platform and are continuously listening to our community’s feedback, developing the platform to adapt to your needs.
Over the past few months, we’ve been working to make it as easy as possible for you to discover and share the most relevant nature-based solutions news, events and resources.
Improved search
We’ve released a new NetworkNature Resource search tool that makes it easier to find and evaluate resources. The improvements include:
- Improved text search: A free text search bar searches across indexed resource content with results ordered by best match.
- Advanced, multi-filtering: Users can narrow results using filters for Keywords, Resource type, Ecosystem, and Country.
- Dynamic filters: Filter options update automatically based on current selections, hiding values that would return no results.
- Instant, responsive interactions: Search and filter updates occur without full page reloads, using smooth transitions for a faster experience.
- Group content: we can add the tool can be added to any group or thematic page to allow focused display and search of more focused resource collections.
- Mobile‑friendly design: On smaller screens, results reflow into a vertical layout and the filter interface is more compact.
Community features
We’re making it easier to join a hub and engage with the NetworkNature community:
Comments: NetworkNature members can now post comments directly to news stories. Article authors are keeping an eye on their articles and responding to comments or questions from the NetworkNature community!
Content portal: The new content portal makes it easier for NetworkNature members to join a hub, task force, or group and add their own content to the platform.
Quality-of-life improvements
These improvements are making the experience of using the platform easier, faster or more useful:
Event time zones: Responding to our multi-national community, we’ve added the option to select time zone when uploading a NetworkNature event. Choose the time-zone where the event is taking place and NetworkNature members will see both the event and their local time when viewing the event.
Site layout: We’ve been improving the website experience by upgrading or adding new responsive layout options. This means we can display information across the site in new ways, you may have already noticed new information banners and content utilising more of the full width of your screen.
Latest content: We’ve made it easier to display the latest NetworkNature content across the site. NetworkNature project groups can now choose to automatically display their latest content on their group page.
What we’re working on next
One of our priorities over the next six months is to improve the user experience of posting content and interacting with groups. This will include a new notification centre and editorial dashboard. We’re also always listening to user feedback and looking at new ways to keep improving your experience.
If you notice any issues on the platform please always submit a bug report and if you want to share any feedback or feature ideas get in touch at community@oppla.eu.
