Apply now: first EU twinning on climate adaptation, hosted in Czechia
Is your region grappling with a mining legacy, contaminated land, or the challenge of turning pilot projects into municipal-wide action? Adaptation Hubs is opening its first EU twinning exchange, connecting regions facing similar climate challenges with frontrunner regions ready to share what works.
The exchange takes place on 7-9 October 2026 in Chodov, Karlovy Vary region (Czechia), mentored by the municipality of Chodov and the region. The theme is "from mining legacy to resilient landscapes": nature-based remediation of contaminated water, regeneration of a post-mining landscape, and scaling municipal demonstration measures up across a town and beyond.
Up to five mentee regions, from five different countries, will be selected — one participant each. The exchange combines online sessions with a 1.5-day physical visit on the ground. Travel and accommodation for the physical exchange are supported for one participant per selected region.
Regional and local authorities, and those working closely with them, are invited to apply — particularly regions still building their adaptation strategy. Deadline: 4 September 2026.

For Czech regions and local authorities – Country training
A parallel REGILIENCE+ country training, organised by IEECP together with the Czech NAH, runs alongside the EU twinning on the same day and covers the same themes with a dedicated deep-dive on adaptation solutions used in the region.
