Join us for a deep dive into the policy and private initiative landscape shaping the transition to a nature-positive economy. This webinar will present the first key findings and products from the GoNaturePositive! project, an EU-funded research initiative that explores how public policies and private-sector initiatives can drive systemic change across Europe’s agriculture, blue economy, forestry, built environment, and tourism sectors.
We will introduce the concept of a nature-positive economy—an emerging paradigm that goes beyond reducing harm to actively restoring and regenerating ecosystems through inclusive, transformative approaches. Participants will then be the first to learn about the results of an extensive mapping exercise that assessed the alignment of core EU and global policy instruments as well as co-operative initiatives involving private, public, and civil society actors with nature positive principles. Noting the rapidly evolving policy landscape, potential implications of more recent developments such as the EU Competitiveness Compass and the Omnibus Simplification Package are also considered.
In joining the webinar, you can look forward to:
- An introduction to the GoNaturePositive! project and the nature-positive economy concept
- An overview of key gaps and leverage points in current EU policy and co-operative initiative landscapes
- Interactive Q&A sessions with the presenters
- An outlook on the next steps in the project and opportunities for engagement
This event is relevant for policymakers, business leaders, researchers, and all parties interested in accelerating Europe’s transition toward a regenerative, equitable, and resilient economy that puts nature at its core.
