MountResilience supports European regions and communities in mountainous areas in strengthening their capacity to adapt to climate change and in advancing towards a climate-resilient society. The project works hand in hand with 10 mountainous regions to design, test, and scale up practical and replicable adaptation solutions, including nature-based solutions, that respond to real policy and societal needs in mountain regions.

In 2025, MountResilience launched its Community of Practice (CoP) to bring together practitioners, regions, and organisations already taking action on climate change adaptation in mountain areas. The CoP provides a space to share experiences and learn form each other

In this upcoming webinar, the focus will be on stakeholder engagement to foster climate change adaptation in mountain areas.

Why?

Successful climate adaptation relies on strong and lasting collaboration with local stakeholders, yet maintaining engagement over time remains a challenge for many regions and projects, particularly where local authorities face limited financial and human resources.

How?

This webinar will bring together practical experiences and tested approaches to stakeholder engagement, to address issues such as conflicting priorities, continuity beyond projects and the need to adapt engagement methods to local contexts. The session will also highlight how existing frameworks and methodologies, often developed or refined within EU-funded projects, can support the planning and implementation of engagement activities, including stakeholder mapping and the organisation of local co-creation workshops for climate adaptation.

Note: This event will be recorded and may be used for communication and dissemination purposes.
