The Sustainable Solutions Match 2026 confirmed the growing momentum around Nature‑based Solutions (NbS) as viable, scalable responses to climate, biodiversity and urban resilience challenges.

The session attracted strong interest from the community, with around 408 registrations and an estimated 100–150 participants joining live. A particular highlight was the pitching session dedicated to Nature‑based Enterprises, which showcased concrete, market‑ready solutions and sparked active engagement from corporates, cities, investors and innovation stakeholders.

Spotlight on the NbS Pitching Session

Seven outstanding Nature‑based enterprises took the stage to present innovative solutions addressing urban cooling, biodiversity restoration, water management, wildfire prevention and nature restoration at scale:

  • SmartSylvan UG (Germany) – Mobile robotic tree systems enabling urban cooling and greening where permanent planting is not feasible
  • Ridaje (Italy) – Urban gardening combined with social reintegration, offering second chances through nature‑based work
  • Zoometrics (Spain) – Digital infrastructure and collaborative tools for urban biodiversity governance
  • ECOCEAN (France) – Advanced technologies for ecological restoration of aquatic and marine environments
  • Daphne Water Solutions (United Kingdom) – Living biofiltration solutions for water reuse and biodiversity protection
  • green account GmbH (Germany) – Biodiversity credits and expert‑led nature restoration planning
  • ForestValleyCare (Denmark) – The FireWall, a mobile water‑mist barrier designed to prevent and stop wildfires

The diversity and maturity of the solutions demonstrated how NbS are moving beyond pilots towards implementation, scalability and investability. The session also triggered follow‑up interest and matchmaking discussions, underlining the relevance of NbS for cities, regions and businesses across Europe.
