The Task Force for NbS Education has served as a meeting ground for educators, researchers, and practitioners committed to embedding Nature-based Solutions (NBS) into learning. Led by the NBS EduWORLD project, it has connected projects, shared resources, and fostered innovation in teaching for sustainability.

Now, as NBS EduWORLD concludes, the Task Force begins a new chapter. Leadership has been passed to the ENaBLS project, ensuring continuity and renewed energy for its mission. This transition marks the handover of responsibility to a new generation of changemakers, ready to strengthen the role of education in building a sustainable and harmonious future.

Two new resources to support the journey
Before passing the baton, NBS EduWORLD leaves behind two new flagship resources developed with and for the Task Force community.

NBS 101 for Journalists Design Guide
This guide helps NbS Hubs, scientists, practitioners, journalists, communicators, and NGOs co-create local language programmes that bring nature-based solutions into the public conversation. Based on the Humanize, Localize, Solutionize (HLS) methodology, it shows how to:

  • Establish dialogue between NbS practitioners and journalists
  • Select and frame relevant local environmental issues
  • Build a shared vocabulary for NbS in local languages
  • Equip communicators to craft compelling, relatable stories

By strengthening the relationship between the media and NbS practitioners, the guide aims to make NbS the methodology of choice for addressing climate, biodiversity, and social resilience challenges.

NBS Education Framework

The “NBS Education Framework” offers a structured approach to integrating nature-based solutions into formal and non-formal education. It defines core principles, competencies, and methods to guide educators, policymakers, and institutions in embedding NbS into curricula and training programmes. The framework emphasises cross-disciplinary collaboration, real-world problem-solving, and active learner engagement, ensuring that NbS education equips learners not just with knowledge, but with the skills and values to act.

Looking Ahead
With ENaBLS taking on new leadership, the Task Force for NbS Education will continue to be a space for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and coordinated action. The two new resources, the “NBS 101 for Journalists Design Guide” and the “NBS Education Framework”, provide practical tools to advance its work, ensuring that educators, communicators, and practitioners can keep growing the movement for nature-based learning well into the future.
