The concept of ecosystem services has been introduced to help determine the different values of ecosystems. This report provides an introduction to ecosystems and economics: it provides a useful introduction for scholars from other social sciences as well as for biologists/ecologists acting as policy advisors. In addition, researchers with a primarily business-economic background and an applied science attitude will find much that is of interest to them.
