The Marine Restoration Working Group at SER (Society for Ecological Restoration).
The Marine Restoration Working Group aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange amongst the network of experts and stakeholders dedicated to the restoration of marine environments, particularly focusing on the deep sea and on coastal habitats in its initial stages.
Consisting of a core panel of experts with a depth and breadth of knowledge and expertise, the MRWG is supported by a broader community of participants who can engage in meetings, online discussions and events. The MRWG will drive the development of marine restoration standards and methodologies, addressing current gaps and promoting best practices.
Resource description:
HIFMB's Transfer Office was attending the Knowledge Exchange Network for Marine Biodiversity Cluster Event at the European Research Executive Agency (REA) of the European Commission (EC). Here in Brussels, I interviewed participants of the event - one of them being Paris Vasilakopoulos - today's guest. Paris works at the EC, specifically the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and, among many topics, we talk about his role in the Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD). Enjoy these short episodes of the podcast coming to you straight from Brussels!
