Achieving environmental and social targets through Urban Greening Plans
Supported by the CLEVER Cities project, UrbanByNature is continuing capacity building in the South Eastern Europe region!
The third session of the UrbanByNature South Eastern Europe webinar series will focus on step 4 of the UbN methodology, Commit and Plan. This step addresses fostering commitment from local decision and policy makers to common goals and collaboratively outlining action plans for urban NbS projects. The focus will be on the development of concrete action plans, including financing, business and governance models for planned nature-based interventions. The session will open with a presentation from Philipp LaHaela Walter of ICLEI Europe on guidance from the European Commission through the upcoming Urban Greening Platform and Urban Greening Plans toolkit. Following this, Maja Jovanovic from the Secretariat of Environmental Protection at the City of Belgrade and Elissavet Bargianni, the Climate Change Adaptation Coordinator of the City of Athens’ Resilience and Sustainability Department, will give presentations to add local context and practical experiences. Their interventions will focus on regional examples of urban nature and experiences of generating stakeholder interest and outlining NbS plans.
During the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and address questions to the webinar speakers:

Philipp LaHaela Walter, Senior Officer for Biodiversity and Green Infrastructure at ICLEI Europe
