Comple-X.NET: Curated Nature Interdisciplinary Research Tour

Slideshow:

Objective:

What is rural landscape curation? How can nature be curated by sustainable science and technologies? From July 17 to 31, 2023,  we launched Curated Nature: Rural, Nature, Art and Technology - Interdisciplinary Research Tour, supported by Pro Helvetia. Swiss artists from the critical interdisciplinary group TETI visited rural villages and industrial sites in China, seeking innovative fieldwork based on artistic, anthropological, and scientific research.

During the project, Comple-X.NET ( founded by Xie Wen) in China aims to build an artistic and interdisciplinary bridge globally. We invite two participants, Anne-Laure Franchette (artist-researcher and curator, Zurich, CH) and Gabriel N. Gee (art historian and writer, Lugano, Zurich, CH), from TETI, a group that fosters critical interdisciplinary inquiry into industrial heritage and environments through mediation, conversation, and production involving artists, scholars, scientists, professionals, and members of the public.

This interdisciplinary research visit project unites artists, scientists, humanities researchers, and industry innovators to visit cities and villages, laboratories, research institutions, and technology enterprises, and observe and dialogue with places based on the relationship between water and land, trying to explore and outline possibilities and methodologies for the digital vision of local collaboration in the Chinese context.
