The session "NBS and Insurance: Experience and Opportunities from Other Projects and Initiatives – Enabling Conditions and Barriers, Long-Term Perspectives: Insurance as a Means for a More Transformative Approach to Resilience, NBS, Ecosystem Services in the Future" offered a critical reflection on the role of the insurance sector in promoting and integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and ecosystem services. By sharing experiences from other European projects and initiatives, the session examined both opportunities and barriers to creating enabling conditions that support a more transformative and resilient approach to climate change adaptation. It also addressed how insurance instruments can evolve to support long-term, nature-based adaptation strategies.
