Through pilot and replication activities in different European regions, JUSTSAFE develops and tests participatory approaches, digital tools, citizen engagement methods and resilience-support solutions focused on climate risks such as heatwaves, floods and other extreme events. The project combines technological innovation with social and governance perspectives, recognising that climate resilience is not only a technical challenge, but also a social and justice-related issue.
A central element of the project is co-creation with communities and stakeholders. JUSTSAFE works closely with local actors to better understand vulnerabilities, strengthen participation, and support more accessible and inclusive adaptation pathways. Activities include scenario-building workshops, citizen engagement actions, climate support services, nature-based solutions, serious games, vulnerability assessment tools, and data-driven decision-support systems.
