Transforming the Culture of Environmental Decision-Making is a one-day workshop aiming to consider how to change the culture, or framing, of environmental decision making to help make our approaches more participatory, systemic and holistic.
The workshop is for acedemics and practitioners to share experiences in order to identify common themes and insights of enabling change and to deepen understanding of strategies and appraoches; with a particular focus on comparing experiences from different domains or target systems, e.g. freshwater, marine systems, protected species management, different habitats. The main output will be a multi-author report, complemented by articles in peer networks and social media. The potential for an academic paper will also be discussed.
The workshop is part of Transformations 2017* - an interdisciplinary conference focusing on transformations towards sustainability: addressing contemporary challenges and creating conditions for enhancing people’s wellbeing, today and in the future, while strengthening the Earth’s support system.
