3046 W 127th St, Blue Island, IL 60406, USA
Blue Island is a working-class community that is committed to both its residents and its tree canopy. Located along the Cal-Sag Trail, this majority BIPOC city contains areas with as little as 16% canopy cover, leading to heat islands, elevated flooding risks, and poor air quality. With financial support from Oak Street Health and help from volunteers like you, an additional 20 trees will be planted in Blue Island's parkways to reduce heat islands and create much-needed shade.
No experience is necessary! Volunteers will help us dig holes, plant trees, mulch, and water.
