Blue Green Infrastructure (BGI) has the potential to address global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and water management. However, whilst valuable research on BGI is available, it often remains theoretical in nature which hinders its effective integration into decision support instruments in both policy development and implementation.
In recognition of this, JNCC, Natural Resources Wales, The International Federation of Landscape Architects Europe, BiodivERsA, and Except Integrated Sustainability collaborated to scope the content and structure of a BGI Manual to guide the implementation of current biodiversity and resilience research into the design, construction and maintenance of BGI.
