Building on the success of previous online events called webstivals, the Euro-Mediterranean Climate Change Center (CMCC) is organizing this first in-person innovative festival, which differentiates from traditional scientific conferences by integrating elements of arts, capacity building and interaction. The event counts with an attractive program covering discussions that aim to unite science, services and standards for a climate resilient future.
The central themes of the festival revolve around three overarching themes, particularly selected to encourage the mingling of different types of audiences:
- EU Mission on Climate Change: Explore effective adaptation and building resilience through the use of climate services.
- Urban Challenges: Focus on sustainable urban development and climate resilient cities.
- Water Management Challenges: Discuss the crucial role of climate services in addressing water-related challenges.
The event will combine plenary sessions with more interactive formats like World Cafés, and a cross-cutting session on good practices in climate communication with the participation of professional journalists. In parallel, a marketplace provides a space for visitors to network and engage in original interactive activities. Should you have ideas to showcase your work, you can apply under the registration form. There are still some free spots available with only one condition: Think out of the box! Additionally, the project will offer lunches and coffee breaks at the festival and a social dinner for participants to foster networking.
