The symposium aims to highlight the power of ecosystem restoration as an accessible, global action to tackle climate change and its impacts. As we know from scientists across the globe and from the Paris Agreement, the scale of this challenge is bigger than any one actor: It’s time for everyone to join in the action. To move from plans to action, everyday people need to be involved in restoring degraded lands and caring for the earth. Ecosystem restoration offers real, measurable and empowering solutions that provide humanity with hope for a better future. The Ecosystem Restoration Camps movement plays a part in growing restoration economies, helping local land initiatives get the financial, technical and capacity support they need to achieve their restoration goals. By working together to restore ecosystems and introduce regenerative practices we can change the broken system ourselves - rather than waiting for governments and big business - and make it possible for humanity to survive on this planet.
