The webinar, co-organised by Firelogue and CTFC, will feature presentations from three speakers, providing a broad vision of the role of nature-based solutions in wildfire risk management. The aim is to gain insights into the conflicts, but most importantly, the synergies between the two concepts.
Adrián Regos from the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia will begin by connecting and framing fire-smartness as a part of integrated wildfire risk management within nature-based solutions.
Following him, Kilian Heil from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions, and Water Management will address lessons learned around the topic of nature-based solutions applied to other hazards, particularly through the example of protective forests in Austria.
Next, Joanne Linnerooth-Bayer from IIASA will discuss how insurance can enable nature-based solutions for wildfires, giving credit to NATURANCE project. The webinar will conclude with a panel discussion among the speakers and the opportunity for questions from the public.
The webinar will be moderated jointly by Juan Picos from the University of Vigo and Marta Serra, from the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia. Learn more about the event on Firelogue website and register now to secure your spot!
