Call for Expression of Interest: Expanding the NbS Hubs Community

NetworkNature is looking to expand its already well-established community of national and regional nature-based solutions (NbS) Hubs. Could you be the next Hub to become part of this community?

What are the NbS Hubs?

NbS hubs are a one-stop shop for NbS knowledge within a country/region. They connect and engage stakeholders in their local language with the ultimate goal of mainstreaming NbS across the local, regional, and national policy levels.

NbS Hubs are also growing a community - a network of networks - to support NbS implementation across geographies and policy scales. NbS hubs are dynamic and respond to their local contexts and needs. They help create a nuanced understanding of NbS across Europe by looking into local specificities of NbS both in terms of the context (i.e. political, socio-economic, climatic) and finding ways to better address local societal challenges. The  NbS Hubs Community is the link between the EU level and local, regional, and national levels for NbS activities. It is impact oriented, ‘thinks outside of the bubble’, and engages stakeholders in their local geographies to mainstream NbS across the local, regional and national policy levels.

The growing  NbS Hubs Community is supported by NetworkNature and the UrbanByNature Programme.

Why join or start a new NbS Hub?

NbS Hubs bring together researchers, policymakers, cities, businesses, educators and the general public to address local barriers, and opportunities for NbS and create a nuanced understanding of NbS across ecological, geographic, economic and political contexts. Joining this network will allow you to be part of a growing community of researchers, policymakers, cities, businesses, educators and the general public to address local barriers, and opportunities for NbS and create a nuanced understanding of NbS across ecological, geographic, economic and political contexts. In addition, hubs regularly come together for knowledge exchange and capacity building activities with the ultimate goal of upscaling nature-based solutions.
