Is there any information on locations for and best practices related to greening industrial sites (including science campuses)? At what scale? And the perception of businesses of the business-cases related to investing in such green infrastructure?
Greening industrial sites: for a better working environment, as a contribution to maintenance of nature and biodiversity in the surrounding landscape ("licence to operate"), as a contribution to flood control capacity, groundwater resources, etc. Is there also information on the contribution to such ecosystem services?

The GIFT-T! project did some excellent work in this field (and is also a case study within the OpenNESS project).
The contact person from Alterra in GIFT-T! is Eveliene Steingrover. Contact details and further information are available on the website http://www.gift-t.eu/

Dear Joop,
I have received the following comments from my colleague Leena Kopperoinen:
'There has been some very successful greening of Brownfield sites in the city of Rotterdam. Also some good examples together with other great revitalization measures in the city of Liverpool, UK. I was on an excursion to Manchester and Liverpool in 2009 and was impressed about the developments. Natural England may be a good organisation to contact about this.'

Dear Joop,
You may wish to contact Dr. Robbert Snep, Senior Researcher (Green Business Sites) at Alterra - Wageningen UR. During 2004-2009 period he conducted PhD research on greening business, office and campus locations. He now consults practical parties, being SME's, multinationals and local governments on how to green these economic areas. He also has expertise in connecting green business site initiatives worldwide. As such, Robbert has a good overview on both the research as well as the practice on greening business sites.
He can be contact via email at robbert.snep@wur.nl or telephone +31(0) 317 48 60 06.
