Resource description:
This Teacher Training Guide outlines key topics and themes to be explored in connection with curricula across different subjects. These may include biology, geography, agriculture, construction-related subjects, urban planning, or environmental sciences, among others. In this way, NBS for biodiversity can be integrated into both TVET and adult education, especially also into existing modules or subjects.
This guide is divided into 3 parts:
- Teacher Training Guide, which is in itself divided into two parts. The first part, 'Basics', addressed the broader background topics such as biodiversity and ecology, leading to a common understanding of NBS. The second part, 'NBS in Practice', explores the more practical and technical aspects of NBS, including environmental risks, food production and water management, as well as urban development.
- NBS Basics Module: an introduction to NBS and 4 different stations to explore with students
- NBS in Practice Module: Municipal Development and Planning centred around a walking pedagogy activity
