A new report from The World Bank Group identifies nature-based solutions as cost-effective methods to increase the resilience of infrastructure.
Examples include: mangroves, coral reefs, and other natural systems which have prevented more than $1 billion in disaster losses annually in the Philippines and the filtration services provided by healthy forests which have saved Portland, Maine, between $97 million and $155 million over 20 years.
